Severe hailstorms over northwestern Italy – July 29, 2017

Severe thunderstorms again hit NW Italy yesterday (Piemonte, Lombardy and Emilia Romagna), as a shortwave passed across the region, producing widespread torrential rainfall and severe hailstorms.

Intense hailstorms with hailstones up to 5 cm in diameter or more were reported in Potenure and Piacenza.
