No doubt, a day to remember! The peak of the heatwave verified with an unprecedented record across N France, Belgium, Netherlands and W Germany today, July 25th! Tens of towns and cities reported afternoon temperatures between 40 and 43 °C! So extremely high temperatures that were almost impossible or hard to imagine they could actually occur. Numerous all-time / absolute station and even national records were shattered with a bang this afternoon – in addition, some stations recorded unimaginable 2-3 °C higher temperatures than ever before!

France peaked at +43.1 °C in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, +42.9 °C was reported in La Brosse-Montceaux and +42.4 °C reported in Nogent-sur-Seine, Achères and also the capital Paris! Some other stations with impressive hot temperatures are below:

Scotland peaked at +31.2 °C in Edinburgh ehich has set a new record for the capital city (the previous record was +30.0 °C set back in 1975)!
