An unusually deep cyclone forms in the eastern Mediterranean: current model guidance indicates central pressure down to 990 mbar!


The system will produce winds gusting at over 110 km/h, mostly over the open sea. However, higher elevations on Crete, Karpathos and Rhodes islands as well as Cyprus may receive strong to severe wind gusts too.

The system will produce intense rainfall in southern Turkey, locally over 150 mm in 24-48 hours. Local flooding will be likely.
