SYNOPSIS
Strong ridge / Omega blocking pattern persists across much of Europe while two upper lows are located on its edges. A deep low W of Iberia and a shallow upper low over Greece. Both will provide some lift and shear for severe storms initiation.
DISCUSSION
SLGT risk has been issued for N Bulgaria, Romania and S Ukraine with threat for severe storms, capable of producing severe winds, torrential rainfall and large hail. Scattered to widespread convective activity is expected under a moderately unstable but weakly sheared environment. Slow moving storms could locally produce hail accumulation and flash floods.
SLGT risk has been issued for SW Russia across Georgia into N Turkey with threat for severe storms, capable of producing severe winds, torrential rainfall and marginally large hail.
TSTM risk areas have been placed where convective storms are likely to occur but should remain sub-severe.
