Severe storms across extreme SW Spain, strong windstorm for N Scandinavia – Feb 12th, 2017

An extensive upper ridge dominates Europe, centered across the N Atlantic and NW Europe. A deep upper low is rotating SW of Iberian peninsula, resulting in unsettled conditions in Spain, Portugal and Morocco. A powerful cyclone travelling north of Scandinavia towards E.

It’s been very cold across Lapland as strong thermal inversions are established under a powerful high pressure ridge, large part of Finland has experienced temp below -20°C, but this will change tomorrow as the windstorm from the Norwegial sea pushes through:
