Straight-line severe winds reported from northern Germany – October 17, 2013

Several fallen trees causing blocked roads were reported from parts of northern Germany on October 17, 2013 in the early afternoon. The areas around Wittingen, Weißenberge, Hankensbüttel, Steinhorst, Tiechgut, Büsumer Deichhausen were reporting damage. Storms were forming in the SLGT risk on DAY 1 Outlook for 17/10/2013 and were accompanied by heavy rain and strong to severe winds as already discussed in the update yesterday.
