UK media report a tornado hit Hayling Island, UK this morning. Storms with heavy rain and strong winds (70-80 km/h) hit the area at 8 am. Very localized damage with broken trees, downed power lines, damaged roofs, destroyed beach huts, damaged vehicles occured on Blackthorn road and Ilex Walk, Hayling Island. In total about 100 houses were damaged. Reportedly (BBC Weather’s Emma Boorman) the damage is consistent with a tornado.
