Flash floods in Berlin, Germany – Oct 12, 2013

Torrential rainfall has been reported along the weak surface boundary extending across central Europe, rounding the SFC low over France. As it has been forecasted in the SLGT risk area on Day 1 Outlook for 12/10/2013, storms took place in the late afternoon and evening hours.


Parts of the city of Berlin, Germany have been affected by heavy convective rain for a couple of hours which lead to flash floods. Some cellars, roads and cars were flooded in parts of Steglitz and Lichterfelde.

Additionally, heavy rain with flash floods has been reported also from Zehlendorf and Betten.
