A powerful trough with strong surface cyclone moves from S Scandinavia into NW Russia and slowly weakens. An upper trough cuts off into W Mediterranean. Surface frontal boundary extending from the low in NW Russia across the Alps into SW Mediterranean.

A MDT risk has been issued for S Finland, Latvia and Estonia into NW Russia with threat for severe winds and heavy rain. Given the very strong LL shear in place overlaped with some instability, tornadoes are not completely ruled out either.

A SLGT risk has been issued for surrounding areas of MDT risk with thret for strong to severe winds.

A SLGT+ risk has been issued for eastern Iberia into SW Mediterranean with threat for torrential rain, strong winds, large hail and some tornado threat.

A SLGT risk has been issued for parts of N Italy with threat for heavy rain, strong winds and marginally large hail.
