More damage reported from the southern United Kingdom within the HIGH risk area of DAY 1 Outlook for 28/10/2013.

Three people have died under falling trees after a storm battered southern Britain, leading to 580,000 homes losing power, and rail and flight cancellations. Network Rail said the damage to railway lines had been “worse than expected”, with more than 100 trees on the lines, but some train services had resumed.

The peak gust in the UK was 159km/h, recorded on the Isle of Wight.
