An upgrade to MDT has been done over Sicily in south Italy given the conductive environment for explosive supercell development during the following hours. An impressive storm cluster is already ongoing just offshore Sicily this morning. Expect threat with heavy convective rain, large hail, severe winds and even tornadoes.
Upgraded northern Algeria into SLGT given the improved environment later this afternoon/evening for large hail, strong winds and heavy rain threat.
Additionally, given the completed frontal passage over the northern Mediterranean, severe treat is diminished and therefore threat levels have been removed.

A strong upper low remains almost stationary, centered over west-central Europe with a weakening lee low over N Italy.
A MDT risk has been issued for parts of northern Adriatic sea, W-CNTRL Slovenia, NE Italy into parts of S Austria with threat for heavy convective rain with high accumulations and strong winds during the morning hours.
A MDT risk has been issued for parts of Ionian sea into coastal areas of W Greece and Albania with threat for heavy convective rain, severe winds, tornadoes and large hail.
A SLGT risk has been issued for the surrounding areas of MDT risks with threat for heavy rain, strong winds and some hail threat mostly over southern parts of SLGT area. Southern Italy and Sicily will be monitored for possible upgrade into MDT risk if conditions improve.
