Severe thunderstorms across parts of Romania and Bulgaria today, July 3, 2017

First reports are coming in from Romania and Bulgaria, both of which were hit by severe thunderstorms this afternoon. The spell of severe weather was expected, brought about by a shortwave trough passing through the region. First reports indicate several severe thunderstorms with large to very large hail and locally torrential rainfall that caused flash flooding.
