Further storms with torrential rain striking Puglia, Italy – October 8, 2013

Yet another round of storms are ongoing around Puglia region included in the MDT risk area of Day 1 Outlook 8/10/2013, where major flooding was reported yesterday. There are numerous flooded houses and roads as well. With the persistent low-level SE-erlies from Ionian sea, conditions are in place for additional storms forming today. Expect torrential rainfall to be the main threat.

Notice also numerous stationary storms under the cold core low centered over N parts of Tyyrhenian sea, with likelihood of producing locally heavy rain and waterspouts within steep low-level lapse rates environment.
