A strong ridge builds up over western Europe over the next 3 days and brings very warm spring weather to the region. Daytime highs across France will approach 20 °C, even up to 22-24 °C in SW France.
The pattern is dominated by a strong ridge centered over the North Sea and some minor cutoff lows across the central and eastern Mediterranean sea.
Looking at the 850 mbar temperature anomaly map (GFS and ECMWF) – the warmest airmass, up to 12 °C warmer than average for this time will be centered over western and central Europe, particularly over northern and central France.
Maximum temperatures (ARPEGE model guidance) on Wednesday and Thursday: spring weather! Temperatures near 20 °C and even up to 22-23 °C in SW France and NE Spain!
