The Iberian peninsula is in for a 5-day period of hot weather. Temperatures in much of Portugal and parts of southern and southwestern Spain will push above 30 °C, locally close to 35 °C. This is 10-14 °C warmer than average for this time!

A very favourable pattern for hot weather sets up across western Europe this weekend and during the first half of next week. Hot weather expected across parts of Spain and Portugal, while even hotter weather is expected in Morocco. Also above average warm weather in the UK and Ireland.

Daytime highs in Portugal and Spain will locally reach above 30 °C every day until at least Thursday. Expect cooler and more unsettled weather after that.
